Write for us
Lively Food Journal welcomes clear, original pitches about ingredients, kitchen craft, food history, markets and the culture of eating together. A strong contribution starts with one precise question and gives readers a fresh way to understand the subject.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the proposed subject, the central idea and why it suits Lively Food Journal. Explain what a reader will understand or be able to consider afterwards, and note the sources or experience that can support the piece. We welcome comparisons, cultural context, careful explanations and practical ideas that do not depend on professional advice.
Keep it specific
A focused pitch is easier to assess than a broad proposal about food in general. Name the particular ingredient, technique, custom or setting, and show what makes the angle distinct. Avoid unsupported health claims, promotional copy and claims of expertise that cannot be substantiated.
How to send a proposal
Send pitches through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include your name, a way to reply and a concise outline. Please do not send a complete article unless requested; a proposal is enough for an initial review.
